A friendship worth fighting for
At the heart of Forgotten Island are lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa, voiced by Grammy and Academy Award winner H.E.R. and Filipino actress Liza Soberano.
The two have been best friends since grade school, but as high school graduates, they are about to take different paths in life. During their final night together, the pair stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to Nakali, a magical island populated by mythical creatures inspired by stories passed down through their Filipino families.
Sounds like the perfect adventure, right?
Well, there’s a catch.
Jo and Raissa eventually discover that the price of returning home is losing all the memories they have of each other. Suddenly, their adventure isn't simply about finding a way off the island—it becomes a race to save the friendship they've built over the years.
Along the way, they're joined by a group of allies, including the well-meaning but hapless weredog Raww, voiced by Dave Franco.
And if you're familiar with Filipino mythology, you can probably guess that the island isn't exactly short on creatures that could give you nightmares.
One of the major threats they face is The Dreaded Manananggal, voiced by Filipino theater and screen icon Lea Salonga.
